At Farmland elementary school, Ryan´s mom and I shared a purchase at an auction for a weekend camping out with Brenda and Rusty Robbins. Jamie and Barrie Keene and Alexa and Ryan all went and had a fun time. My girls have sweet memories of dear Ryan.
Sending so much love to my dear friend Mary- and to Alexa and Michael and their families.

As kids together, we spent hours in the creek/woods shooting crab apples with his slingshot & BB gun, bike rides, rope swings and all sorts of fun; Ryan was always a great pal & fixture in the neighborhood & youth group; love to Mary and Alexa and family.

So sorry I can´t be at the memorial. To Ryan´s family and oh so many friends- such a great guy, always upbeat when I saw him. I know he had ups and downs and we talked about that over the years. I want to remember all the good times. Ryan and Aaron debating their radio stage names if they were signed at Bar None...they decided on Ryan and Aaron.

Ryan was one of my best friends. We bonded over music, Lebanese Cuisine, politics, and gardening. We talked almost every day. All I want to do is pick up my phone and call him and tell him about my day and listen to what he did that day. Now when I look at his house I burst into tears. We both were early raisers and I would see him leave every morning before the sun came up. Now when I get up, I miss hearing his voice when he pulled out of his driveway. These past 8 days have been very hard. I can't stop thinking about my friend. I'm going to miss him dearly. RIP MY FRIEND.

Frank Nelson ---
I met Ryan in the 90s when I lived in Columbia. We were both musicians and he was one of the best guitar players in the city. I learned a lot from him whether it was what to listen to or how to play the way you wanted to. We had many fun jam sessions in those days.
One of my favorite memories of Ryan (who we all called Bandy) was during a citywide music festival many years ago. Bandy and I walked around to check out the bands at several of the performance stages dotted throughout downtown Columbia. After a few hours,a few beers, and a ton of excellent music Bandy suggested we calm things down and go to the AME church and listen to the gospel band and choir who were also performing as part of the overall music festival. We sat quietly in the back of the second floor seating section and just listened for 30/45 minutes.
That night I gained a deep respect for gospel music that continues to this day. The spirit, soul, and power of the musicians was superhuman. I will always remember that story of the AME church and my introduction to gospel music and I will always thank Bandy for that.
Sadly, I lost one of my favorite drummers earlier this year. Quentin played rock and roll, jazz, and everything but he was raised in the church and a brilliant gospel drummer, well known in Charleston, and had performed internationally.
I have a good feeling that Bandy and my gospel drummer and my other lost musician friends and music loving friends are having a great jam up in heaven right now.
Thanks Bandy

I'll always remember our jam sessions at my house on Maryland St, you were always showing me new licks or things on the guitar. Then we'd head off to Group Therapy for a couple beers. Or those times driving out to the quarry during those lazy summers towards the end of college to go swimming and jumping off cliffs. I will always remember those summers when we hung out constantly during that time, and all the times in my early twenties that you were a big part of. With that laugh of yours and that patented "Bandy" look on your face. Miss you.

Ryan, thank you for always making me laugh until I´d cry, opening my ears to amazing music, Spinal Tap and moon boots. Your spirit will continue to make all feel welcome, at ease and happy. Much love to you and your family

Ryan was a great friend of mine in high school. I enjoyed playing football with him. He will be sorely missed. I will see you again someday.

I am heartbroken, Ryan. You are irreplaceable. What I would give to still have you here...
