Ryan was my supervisor when I worked for Challenger Sports before my senior year of high school. Simply put, he was a great guy who I enjoyed working with and made me feel like part of the team. He had such a vibrant soul and I loved starting my morning off getting the daily brief from him. I didn't see Ryan for over three years after that summer, but I am fortunate to say I ran into him one final time in Westport after a long night out. It was clear that his friends loved being around him, and he truly brought joy to everyone he encountered. Every time I go back to visit my Grandpa at Challenger, I can't help but feel like something is missing. I hope he has found peace, and I send my best wishes and support to his family.

Although today is your official death date, it feels as if this whole month has been a whirlwind. Not a day goes by that I don't think about you or that you don't cross my mind in some way. You've opened my eyes to a lot of things. I can't wait to see you in eternal life again someday!

Though we didn't stay in touch over the years, I always thought of Ryan with a smile whenever I heard his name. Ever since early elementary school, he subtly radiated a kindness and authenticity that was rare, and-even in passing-I recognized that same characteristic throughout the years. Each of us who shared a part of Ryan's life was better for it, and we are blessed to have been able to share in life with him. You'll stay in our prayers, and in our thanks for nurturing such a fine man.

Found this photo of the boys when they played for the Titans..Ryan is far left, Jack is 2nd to the right, both standing... Jean said to me the other evening, "Ryan was a silent leader"...yes he was..He inspired his friends to be the best

Still stunned from this news from my son, Will Leonard. Will always spoke highly of Ryan and our hearts are heavy for all who loved him and knew him. Ryan had some great buddies and seeing the message from "Coach O" reminded me of all the boys had in common - on and off the field!

Jean, I remember connecting with you when the boys went to KU together. I thought then and now how lucky Ryan was to have such an engaged and caring Mom.

Ryan was always smiling and we will remember him that way.

Peace to you and the entire family Jean.

I met Ryan through my boyfriend, Andy, briefly end of September followed by going to T-BOX for a longer weekend in Chicago with him and all the boys in October. After T-Box, I remember continually telling Andy how awesome it would be if Ryan and the others lived in Minnesota. He was such a fun person to be around! Right off the bat I could see how much he cared for people and how genuinely nice and welcoming of a person he was. The last time I saw Ryan was when he came up to Minnesota for my birthday party just a few days before his birthday in April. He and Derek ended up unable to catch a flight, so they ended up driving up all the way to Minnesota to make it. That is the kind of person he is. After that, I remember continually asking Andy, once again, when he'd be coming again.
I am very grateful to have gotten to know Ryan. He never failed to fill a room with laughs and smiles, and I am so thankful for all the memories and joy he filled Andy and all the other people in his life with. You will be so missed Clough!

Our hearts are full of sadness for you Jean & Sandy but now you know he suffers no longer....perhaps the stars in the sky are not stars at all but openings where our loved ones shine down on us to let us know they are ok.

First time I met Ryan, he crushed me in a game of chess! He was 9; I was late 20's. He was a bright young man and it saddens me that we have lost him. Jean,Sandy, and Sarah- I can't even imagine how you are feeling. Please know that I will never forget our game of chess and know that you will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Ryan, but I do know of the caliber and character of his parents and the comments I've read seem to be a great reflection of what is best about Jean and Sandy. Many thoughts and prayers are with the Persons/Clough family.

I had Ryan in Sunday school when he was in the third grade, he was a delight. I am very saddened to hear of his passing and Cindy and I can only hope that the support of friends can bring some measure of comfort to the Clough family.
