Did you know there's a Fire Department in Heaven?
I heard Cap tell that sorrowful little girl.
The young girl stared, working over the words she'd just been given.
Cap, do you think God's got a spot on the truck for my dad?
Cap smiled, even though you could tell his heart was heavy, and said,
You bet, as he patted the girls head.
The little girl looked up, her sadness, for now, gone.
Cap went on, holding back the tears that were trying to fall.
They've got the biggest, reddest fire trucks you ever saw,
And they keep them all cleaned and ready,
Just in case they get a call.
Of course they don't get too many,
Bein' in Heaven and all.
But God knew this, so right next to them He made,
A great big tree, that puts out a lot of shade.
And each day they have at least one run,
Down the streets of Heaven, leading the afternoon parade.
That's been years ago now,
And in that time, things have changed a lot.
Cap, he's been retired, and I, somehow, made it to Chief.
And the little girl , she is now, down at station two,
And, I must say, one of the finest Captains on my crew.
The day came, the worst of any other,
When we have to say farewell to a fallen brother.
I watched, as she walked over to that hero's son,
And share some words, just as my Cap and I had once done...
Did you know there's a Fire Department in Heaven?.............

To Ryan's Family, as Ryan's Deputy Fire Chief I was privilege to have worked with such an incredible individual, firefighter and paramedic for the past seven years. He came to work each day with such a passion for the job and was well respected by his fire service colleagues. His legacy is now part of the history of the Walpole Fire Department. Ryan, I will never forget the first time I met you and Bobby! It was Columbus Weekend, you were visiting your Uncle and I was out riding the 4 wheeler! You guys came down and Ill never forget you looking at the wheeler and saying "Bob, it's as big as a 'Cah'! From there on out, my sister and I use to talk to you guys for hours at a time! Not so much the older we got, but we kept in touch here and there! I'm just in complete shock that you were taken so soon! My thoughts and prayer go out to your daughter and family!!! I had the pleasure to sit next to Ryan and his beautiful daughter on a Sata flight on our way back from Portugal. He was such a pleasure and what an incredible dad, needless to say that he made such an impression on me, my husband and my daughter (we happen to be from Walpole)! To all that loved Ryan,
To me...Ryan was a very respectful, pleasant man who was always a gentleman. He especially loved and adored his daughter. Whenever I would see him at Bush St., I would ask
