As my birthday is tomorrow, it´s not the same without you celebrating with me. Ryan and I would celebrate ours together. Growing up Ryan never had the opportunity to celebrate birthdays or holidays. He felt bad not being able to do so. So later in life he enjoyed these things. Ryan until we join each other in Heaven, please watch over me and guide me. I love and miss you so very much!

I met Ryan in Kindergarten at Nathaniel Hawthorn Elementary. He taught me my first drum beat with my hand and fingers. I thought that was the coolest thing. LOL...He was a beautiful soul from day one. I always wondered what ever became of him and some of my other classmates. I Google him tongigh and surprisingly found him right away, along with the sad news. I was so close to being able to reach out to him. This saddened me deeply tonight. My deepest condolences to you all.

My dearest Ryan, I am sorry I was not there to be with you as you transitioned to Heaven. God called you home to give you sweet rest. You fought a good fight against the cancer that ravaged your body.

I loved you from the moment we met and I will always love you. Your smile, your laughter, your strength, and those AWESOME hugs from you will be greatly missed. I will miss our long phone calls and talks about life where you displaced your intellect and knowledge of the world. You are an AWESOME guy. I miss you and cry alot that you are no longer here with us. I know that you and Jeff shared a special love and Uncle Clyde and I will keep in touch with him. I am thrilled that you got the opportunity to meet all your second cousins on the Henderson side. Samiyah enjoyed dancing with you!! I hope I gave you your roses while you were here to enjoy them! I love you Ryan. Always. Ms. Janis/Auntie

As each day passes, my grief hits me harder than ever. Ryan when we first met in 2000, we connected right away. Our experiences were very similar, you met my friends and family and were accepted right away. We travelled across the country and Canada. Together we worked on professional growth and personal goals. Our humor was contagious, your laughter was iconic! Our love for each other was seamless, you would always surprise me with cards, candy and letters. We worked together for awhile in the corporate world, living a "secret " of our relationship sneaking a kiss when no one was looking. Your kindness and compassion was incredible, we made the perfect couple. Everyone wanted our life, we never argued or got upset ever. We enjoyed car shows, our BMW´s and road test drives. You´ll always be my guy! I was the luckiest man to have you as my partner and will forever have you in my heart !!! Love you Ryan. Thank you

I remember when Ryan came to visit Grandma Mary and the rest of the family in Evanston. He told us he was writing a book. He seemed like nice guy. I also remember when I sent him a Christmas present. It was a Bible and journal combined. I told him he could write all his thoughts in it and read the Bible as well. He called me back to thank me for the present. He said he would write in it everyday. Ryan you are in no more pain now. For now you can be with all your relatives. For they are welcoming you. Rest dear Ryan rest. Love Aunt Marilyn

I met Ryan for the first time at nephew Eddie's funeral. Although, I only knew him for a short time I felt as if I had known him for years.

I met someone who was kind, thoughtful, respectful, articulate and very intelligent. He was also someone with a great sense of humor and a southern gentleman.

Ryan I will miss your phone calls and your texts, but I am relieved that you are no longer suffering on this earth and you are at peace.

Remember, God always knows what is best for us. Ryan, you maybe out of our sight, but you will always be in our hearts.

Good Bye Ryan. May you forever rest in heavenly peace.
