Ryan Garcia Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 18 to Jul. 28, 2023.
Chico - Ryan Garcia

passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2023 at the age of 30. Our family was not expecting for Ryan's life to be cut so short. We are all devastated by this huge loss and he will forever be missed.

Ryan was born with such a sense of adventure and a heart of gold. He loved spending time with his golden retriever, Dayton and learning new music on his guitar . Some of Ryan's greatest accomplishments were becoming the IKF Grand National Champion for Go Karting, working on the Pacific Crest Trail and fighting wildland fires with FireStorm.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Kelly and Gabriel Garcia; sister, Rachel Duda (Jackson); grandfathers, Enrique Garcia and Ray Moore; great grandmother Charlotte Vegias; his sweet golden retriever, Dayton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He is now reunited with his grandmothers, Catherine Moore and Graciela Garcia and grandfather, George Vegias.

No formal funeral service is being planned, instead, he will be honored with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.

Ryan was one hell of a cousin. There´s no doubt in my mind that he loved his family with all of his heart. I believe he fought for them - for us- every single day. It´s what truly mattered to him. He pushed through things I´d be scared to.

I grew up with Ryan, from earliest memories, and each year he seemed even bigger than me. I´ll always remember that feeling of being `the little kid´ playing in grandmas back yard with my cousins, or learning to hackey sack with his friends. Being teased with love.

Living with him for the past 4 years, I learned so much from his many successes and mistakes. He was the closest thing I had to an obnoxious big brother. His best qualities I may well strive for forever.

Ryan was also my best student. Despite mechanical struggles with the hand, he gave guitar his all. He smiled through a journey longer than most on the instrument and was never discouraged by not reaching the destination. He played like he truly doesn´t care what others think, and to me that´s incredibly admirable.

Ryan in life and death taught me that family matters. He´s someone I´m proud to keep in my heart. He expressed a raw, genuine love until his last moments and I will always feel it. I wouldn´t replace my experiences with him for anything else, and I miss him dearly already.

Love you cuz

Ryan was a wonderful nephew. He was the first grandchild on both sides of the family. We were all so
excited the day he came into this world. I enjoyed
watching Ryan and Rachel grow up. They were both
such beautiful children. A few years ago when visiting
Salinas and staying at Kelly's, I invited Ryan to go with
me to the Monterey Wharf and have lunch. We had a great time and I"m so thankful now for that wonderful memory of spending the day with Ryan and having him all to myself. He was such a caring and sensitive young
man and I loved him very much. My heart is broken.

Ryan was an incredible spirit who brought so much light to all of us. Sending love and healing to the Garcia family. Our BV days, and high school will always have his smile and laugh attached.

Until we meet again

So sad to see the ones we´ve loved and lost. The only joy is that the ones that have passed before are there with warm open arms to receive him with joy. Until we meet again Ryan.

Ryan was the sweetest little boy. He was very much loved by his grandmother's. He will be deeply missed.
