Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 12, 2017.
Ryan Charles Johnson, the son of Charles and Deborah (Colvard) Johnson, was born on April 20, 1984 in St. Louis Park, MN. Ryan grew up in Brooklyn Park and played soccer, baseball, and football. In 1994, Ryan and his family moved to Alexandria where he continued to play sports and then graduated from Jefferson High School in 2002. For two years Ryan attended Oak Hills Bible College in Bemidji, MN and then he attended a bible college in Missouri for one year. Ryan returned home to Alexandria and worked for convenience stores for a number of years. He always liked to drive around in his car and bird-watching. Ryan loved music. One of Ryan's passions was playing guitar and bass guitar. Every spare moment Ryan would pick up his guitar and play songs or go to concerts. Ryan's mother always enjoyed listening to Ryan's beautiful music. Another passion for Ryan was sports. Ryan and his dad enjoyed going to twins games and watching Wild hockey together. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Ryan C. Johnson died on April 12, 2017 at the age of 32 years old. He is survived by his loving parents, Charles and Deborah Johnson of Alexandria; brother, Dustin Johnson of Alexandria, grandparents, Elbert and Eileen Colvard of Moundsview: uncles, Lawrence Johnson of Worthing, SD and Gary Colvard of Minneapolis; aunts, Jeannette (Gerald) Zappetillo of Prior Lake, Sharon Johnson of St. Louis Park, Susan (Robert) Hanson of East Bethel, and Kathleen (Greg) Curtis of Ramsey; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Charlotte Johnson. A Private Family Memorial Service was held at the Anderson Funeral Home. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. www.andersonfuneral.net

Ryan, It's so hard to wrap my mind around this. I think of all the memories and years I knew you. All the kindness and love you spread into the world. All the times we stayed up till four am listening to music and eating Reese's and hanging out. There are so many memories with you Ryan and they will always live on. Your Life and love for people will always be something I hold onto and remember. You are so dearly missed already. Wish I could be there to honor your life today, just know I will be from afar. RJ was a great man and a great friend to have for many years. He always looked out for others and helped them in times of trouble. He will be missed greatly by many. He believed in always trying his best, and encouraged me to do so and not to give up my dreams. He had many talents I did not know about when we first met, as he was quiet. When we got to know each other we talked and became friends. I remember all the good times and him supporting me not even in my best times. Wishing the best for his family through this tough time.

He was such a special young man, that offered this world so much and definitely made this world a better place.
