Sally Devlin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 26, 2014.
SALLY BUCKLEY BENNETT DEVLIN Sally Weisburger Buckley Bennett Devlin passed on September 12, 2014, after a short stay with her surviving daughter, Sister Jessie Buckley. She had a very interesting life and helped many people during her eighty five years on the planet. She was raised in New York City, and in her last days spoke mostly of her life in New York, the world of Art, and the Theater. She loved life, men and having a "grand time!" She went from the streets of Fifth Avenue to the desert of Nevada, where she and her last husband raised and raced horses. She was the first women licensed as a stock broker in California (so we have been told). She helped improve the Community College in Pahrump, worked tirelessly to stop the transport of hot nuclear waste through the United States, and the shutting of the Nuclear Test site that was near her beloved ranch in Pahrump. The family (Sister Jessie) is asking for anyone that was blessed by Sally to please submit stories to her email at [email protected] and appreciates your prayers. Private scattering of her ashes will be as she requested.

Sally Devlin participated in the Shakespeare Round Table of Pahrump Community Library bringing her wit, enthusiasm for the arts, and interest in our community. We all shared titles: Sally's courtly title was "Princess Sally." Please view under "Photo" a jpeg document online written about her background for the Shakespeare Program highlighting her talents and experiences. Judith Brooks-Strickland
