Sally L. DeVries

Weston – Mrs. Sally L. (Lucas) DeVries, of Weston, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at MetroWest Medical Center in Natick. She was 70. Born in West Branch, Michigan, a daughter of the late Sherman and Martha (McClarty) Lucas, she was a graduate of West Branch High School and Central Michigan University. Until her retirement ten years ago, Sally worked as a physician credentialer in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After that she moved to Massachusetts, first to Waltham, and then to Weston five years ago. Sally had also worked in the Student Affairs Office at the University of Michigan, and before that, in advertising in Michigan and in Seattle, Washington. She leaves her daughter, Karie L. DeVries, her son-in-law, Steven King and her grandson, Joseph King, all of Weston; her siblings, David Lucas, Marleen Bamfield and Carolee Poling, all of West Branch and many nieces and nephews. Sally was also the mother of the late Jileen DeVries of Hayward, California and sister of the late Donald Lucas. Funeral services will be private.
