Sally A. DiMarco

HAMPDEN and MILLINOCKET - Sally A. DiMarco, 79, passed away peacefully Dec. 19, 2012, at home, after a long illness. She was born in Millinocket, the daughter of Henry and Annie (Owen) Martell.

Sally was raised in Millinocket and graduated from Stearns High School. She worked at Great Northern Paper Co., before retiring and relocating to Hampden. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and an avid gardener and cook, and most enjoyed hosting large family gatherings, where she could display her culinary skills.

In addition to her husband of 61 years, Asperino, she is survived by four children, Julie Brown and spouse, Ronald, Garry DiMarco and spouse, Roxanne, Mary Jane DiMarco, and David DiMarco and spouse, Hilda; sister, Beverly Morrow; and brother, Bruce Martell. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Andrea Tapley and spouse, William, Jennifer DiMarco and spouse, Mark Misiura, Anthony and Christopher DiMarco, Erin Lundy and spouse, Noah, Chad Bryant, Tyler Grindle and Angelina DiMarco; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John DiMarco; brothers, Henry Jr., William and Robert Martell; and sister, Fredericka Boynton.

A graveside memorial service will be held in the spring at Millinocket Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Sally in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the charity of their choice.
