Sally HAUGEN

I met Sally - the mother of my wonderful friend Sonja - last year and felt such a connection with her. As gentle and kind as her daughter, she seemed to embrace life even when faced with adversity. I and all of Sonja's friends have followed Sally's journey over recent years. We've heard of the bravery and spirit with which she has tackled her battle with cancer and seen the joy brought by wonderful grandchildren. I wish love and prayers to all the family who have lost such an amazing mother, wife and grandmother. I know that her spirit will live on in your hearts and memories.

Gracious and kind through her tribulations our good friend Sally has gone home yet lives on in our hearts.

Although we knew Sally for such a short time, she made such an impression on our family. I will always treasure our Mondays with the boys, her song-like voice, her warmth and kindness. She told me once my house is like a "treasure trove" of lovely things; I will never forget her kind friendship and encouragement. Our hearts go out to all of the family. Though I first knew them in a professional capacity, I very quickly came to really like Sally and Max and to consider them both as friends.

Sally was a warm, wonderful woman, very positive and caring. I found her energy and life-force really inspirational. Her family was deeply important to her--she had a great relationship with Max, Gwen and Sonja and welcomed into her life her daughters' husbands and children. She will be greatly missed by them and by her many friends, including me.

To me, Sally, whom I did not know that well, was someone who lived enthusiastically, embraced life to the full, made everyone feel included, and was an inspiration to us all. Thank you for the memories. Anthea

Sally was our lovely cousin and we have many happy childhood memories of times spent in Ropley and Stocksfield; our only regret is that we then lived so far away from each other. Sally was inspirational and we shall miss her. Much love to all her very special family, Carol and Gail

I feel very privileged and grateful to have shared my life and had so much fun with my wonderful friend Sally since we met in 1964 while working in West Africa.

Sally was devoted to her lovely family and she dedicated her life to making the world a better and more interesting and enjoyable place for the rest of us.

Sally was so courageous and positive and kept saying how lucky and thankful she felt to have lived for thirty unexpected years since her first cancer treatment. An example to us all, she really did know how to live every day as if it was her last. She packed more into one day than many people manage in a week.

Nobody will ever be able to fill the space left by Sally. She was so unique and remarkable, energetic and inspiring, kind and generous, sensitive and thoughtful. She will be greatly missed by all those of us who admired, respected and loved her so much.

I have been in danger of drowning in my own tears since Sally passed away, but she would not have wanted us to be sad. I shall carry her in my heart for ever and smile every time I think of her.

My daughter Suzanna, son Michael and I send our good wishes and love to Max, Sonja, Gwen and all the family. We are thinking of you.
