I am so greatful that her life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. She was so strong and giving with a heart of gold and always there for so many of the family members that needed her. We wanted to let you know that you have our deepest sympathy.

My condolences to the Hooks family during this time of sorrow. As a retired member of the Bucyrus "family", the recollections of Sally to us all are those of fondness and good will. I regret not being able to attend the memorial service; but will keep her in my prayers in the coming weeks. She was indeed, a special lady. God Bless.

Dear Mr. Hooks, Gerise, Mimi, Dan, Cindy and the entire family, I was so sorry to hear about your wife, mom, grandma and a special relative and friend to all who knew her. I had just e-mailed Gerise about what a special person her mom was during our junior high and high school years. Some of my happiest memories were spent with you all at your house after school, around the dinner table (always delicious!) and during all our school and band activities. She always made it a special, welcoming place for me as Gerise's friend. God bless her and all of you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May all the happy memories she created bring you comfort now and always.

Sally was one of the very best people I know. The most remarkable thing that I remember about Sally is how she did everything well and made it all look effortless. She had a calm, pleasant disposition and was always there when you needed her. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I will be forever grateful that I got to live with Uncle Ernie and Aunt Sally for a year of my life. Sally is one of the best person and caring lady I ever met or will meet in my life. It was only a year but it was one of the best years of my life. Boy was she a good cook, I haven't met anyone that can cook better and don't think I will in my lifetime. I remember pancakes in morning, chocolate chip, banana, blueberry, etc. I went to stay with them to go to school and she made sure I did the right thing, I didn't miss a day of school even though I tried. She bought me clothes, helped me with my homework, I will especially remember the drivers ed project we did together. Sally was a great mother to her children and mother figure to the one’s that weren’t her children. Sally gave so much of herself and didn’t expect much in return. She took a genuine interest in my life and in others and I am a better person for knowing her. I know Aunt Sally is in Heaven and can only hope one day I will see her again. ~Sean Hooks (Nephew)

I'll always keep fond memories of my Aunt Sally. Her's was my favorite place to go for the holidays while growing up. It was more than the delicious food and the stimulating company - it was the warmth of the loving home life that her and Ernie cultivated with their children and shared with the whole extended family. She will be greatly missed, and I would like to extend my sympathies to her closest loved ones.

Dear Hooks Family,
Sally was always so kind to everyone. I met her through Bucyrus(Caterpillar) and enjoyed talking Badger Football with her. For sure her light will shine down upon her team every Saturday now that she is in heaven. Sally, we will miss you.

To The Hooks Family,
I used to work with Sally at Bucyrus for four years and she was just a joy to know and work with. I will never forget her wonderful baked treats she would bring in for us and was always a Mom to us all. You are all in my prayers.

Ernie and Family,
We all spent a lot of time together at the South Milwaukee Little League both at meetings and every day at the SMLL Park. It was both fun and lots of work. What made it fun was being around people like Sally and Ernie Hooks. Class people who gave freely of themselves to support the kids of South Milwaukee, not only thru the Little League program, but in many other ways.
We will all miss Sally and remember her always. We will keep our best thoughts and prayers for Ernie and his family and friends.

We met her long ago through South Milwaukee Little League. Then we knew we were following her volunteering with South Milwaukee Band. The banner the Rocket Band carried was made by Sally. Then again Kathy had the pleasure of meeting with her monthly at Jasum. Her energy for everything she did was extraordinary. Her pride and love of her family overflowed in everything she said and did. She always had pictures. We will miss her! May God give Ernie and her family strength to continue as Sally would have wanted. God's Blessings.

To the Family of Sally,
Know that God had a very special job that only Sally could do, and she is at his side right now, maybe showing the angels how to knit! She has a smile on her face and is without any pain. She has her reward at the end of a very long journey. Her stairway to heaven was very long, and without carpet, however, she made it and we celebrate the joy that she now has in Jesus. I have requested that my Mother and Dad meet her at the gate and give a first rate tour.
Sally we miss you, but would never hold you back from your heavenly reward. I can hear your knitting needles clicking right now. Enjoy dear friend, just enjoy your final reward. We will all miss you very much, but will heal and look forward to seeing you when we complete our walk.

Dear Hooks Family,
I had the pleasure of working w/Sally, (our very own Martha Stewart) over the past 5 yrs.
I'll miss the tablecloths at the work luncheons. The sewing kit from her purse, the dream of winning millions from the "shared" lottery... but mostly I will miss her.
My deepest sympathy.
