Sally Lott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 2, 2024.
Sally Ann (Seyfried) Lott was born January 17, 1945, and passed away September 30, 2024, after several years struggling with Alzheimer's.

Sally is survived by her beloved husband Richard "Dick" Lott. Their love story began when bumping elbows in German language lab at Hiram College. They married on March 26,1966, in Ravenna, Ohio and remained steadfastly in love for 58 years.

Sally and Dick raised two children, Matthew (Tamara) Lott of Stow, Ohio, and Melinda Lott of Wadsworth, Ohio. Sally was the loving grandmother of Aaron, Nicole, Allison, Carolyn and Kaylee.

Sally is survived by brother Jim (Toni) Seyfried of Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents Wilbert and Pauline Seyfried of Ravenna, and Aunt Rachel Ritter of Kent, Ohio.

Sally completed her degree in Elementary Education at Kent State and taught third grade at Ravenna Southeast Primary for 25 years in the same classroom.

Sally and Dick enjoyed week-long, remote, tent, fly-in fishing trips with the canoe strapped to the pontoon struts of the float plane in northern Quebec. They also enjoyed Caribbean cruises with family. She was a wonderful cook, even getting her picky husband to try new dishes. Sally loved to read and sewed beautiful clothes for her kids' and grandkids' special events. She volunteered to direct food preparation, providing meals for the needy with Open M, a Christian ministry, through her church, Harmony Springs Disciples of Christ Church in Green.

Sally was much loved and will be remembered and missed by many.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 2:00pm at Harmony Springs Disciples of Christ Church in Green with the Rev. Joel Engman officiating.

Sally was a wonderful friend, loyal, sweet, kind, wise, smart, and funny.
We spent many hours "walking the dam" at West Branch State Park, early in the morning. The breath-taking sights of nature were seen, personal and world problems discussed, and the precious therapy of friendship enhancing joy.

Sally was a wonderful teacher: one of my daughter´s favorites. She was who you wanted to work committees with, as she did her part. She was an extraordinary volunteer.

May her eyes be twinkling with joy right now, at peace with her Creator.
I thank Him for blessing my life with Sally.

Dick, Matthew, and Mindy (and families), may your hearts be at Peace.

Sally was an amazing woman. As a co-worker at Southeast, I watched in awe as she handled many jobs. She did them all efficiently and gracefully. The wilderness excursions with Dick had me assigning her super hero status. Sally had an arsennal of strategies when faced with problems in the classroom and the teacher's association. She will be missed.
