Funeral services for Mrs. Sally Mae Eaddy Modeste will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Salem United Methodist Church, Claussen Community. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She departed this life on Saturday, November 10, 2007 in a local hospital after an illness.
She was born November 13, 1939 in Florence, South Carolina, the daughter of Willie, Sr. and Floria Bartell Eaddy. She was educated in the public schools of Florence County and relocated to Brooklyn, New York, where she received her Nursing License. She worked for more than 35 years at Maimonides Hospital before retiring in 2005.
Sally moved back to Florence in 2006 and united with Salem United Methodist Church.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Modeste; sister, Patricia Eaddy Capeheart; and a brother-in-law, Buster Hicks.
Survivors besides her mother are: one daughter, Dominique Modeste; one son, Malique Modeste; sisters, Earline Hicks and Jocelyn (Donald) Reese; brothers, Willie, Jr. (Bert) Eaddy, Hezekiah (Georgia) Eaddy and Ronald (Vicki) Eaddy; brother-in-law, Harry (Louvenia) Capeheart; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
