Sally A O'Connor

Centerville - Sally O'Connor, age 75, of Centerville passed away on August 4, 2024.

Sally was the beloved sister of Susan O'Connor and Robert O'Connor, both of Cotuit. She is also survived by a niece, Anne Oppenheimer of Tennessee, and several cousins.

Sally was the daughter of the late James and Hilda (Hansen) O'Connor. After spending her early years in Boston, Sally and her family moved to Squantum. She graduated from North Quincy High School in 1967. Upon graduation, Sally moved backed to Boston, living in the Beacon Hill and Fenway neighborhoods as well as Somerville before settling into her long term residence in Cleveland Circle. Sally worked primarily as a cab driver (and later as a dispatcher) for many area taxi companies. She also spent several years working as a Security Officer in the Longwood Medical Area and as a Field Service Technician for Savin and Xerox copying machines. Sally attended Women's Technical Institute in Boston and later received an Associate's Degree from Worcester Junior College.

After being disabled by a stroke in 2010, Sally moved to Eagle Pond Rehabilitation and Living Center (later South Dennis Healthcare) where she resided for 13 years. Upon the closing of this facility, Sally moved to Cape Regency Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Centerville where she resided at the time of her death. The family wants to extend sincere gratitude to the nursing home staff who took care of Sally over the years.

During the course of her life, Sally enjoyed the companionship of many cats. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
