Sally Purdy Obituary
Born August 28, 1925 in Pittsylvania County she was daughter of the late George Brumfield and Sallie Bowling Brumfield. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred Hugh Purdy; eight brothers, Walter Brumfield, Albert Brumfield, Guy Brumfield, Roy Brumfield, Leffie Brumfield, Jim Brumfield, Loyd Brumfield, and Lonnie Brumfield; and two sisters, Ethel Saunders and Edna Giles. Mrs. Purdy was a member of Church of God of Prophecy and was a former employee of Danville Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed yard sales, cooking, and flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Purdy and his wife, Betty of Madison Heights, and Mark Purdy and his wife, Wanda of Gretna; two daughters, Shirley Crabb of Radford and Joyce Vinton and her husband, Dale of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Purdy, Lynette Patterson, Rhonda Whitt, Heather Hawley, and Melissa Vinton; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 8, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Carlton Duck. Burial will follow in the Brumfield Family Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 8, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

Hey, this is Tabitha, Mrs.Purdy's previous CNA. I never got the chance to see you and tell you how sorry I was. You know how much I *LOVED* mrs.purdy with all my heart!! I went to view her at the funneral home, but no one else was there,I signed the guess book.I just wanted to get in contact with you somehow. I wanted you to know I really wanted to attend the funneral but my parents and I came to the agreement that it would be too painful,I already couldnt stop crying. I had went to visit her at the nursing home the day after it happened,thats when I found out she had passed.But I know she is in a better place and is better off than any of us in heavenShe still crosses my mind frequently!!
