Dr. Matt gave me the one true experience I had in high school of what being a college student was going to be like. His Latin class was challenging in a way that prepared me for what was to come. I am so grateful that he took the time and made the commitment to teach Latin at CCHS. His class helped prepare me for life.

Sal was such a special person whose life will continue to impact the lives of others for years to come. Patsy and I very much enjoyed his sense of humor and intellect the few years we had the privilege of knowing him after we retired to Murray. His was a life well-lived.

Salve, Magister! Dr. Mat was one of my favorite teachers. So glad that he was able to bring Latin alive to us in high school; I know I am a better person for having been his student. Every class was a good mix of life lessons, encouragement, and grammar. A man of intellect, kindness and benevolent gravitas. Requiescat in pace, Magnus magister .

So sorry for the loss of this great man! Dr. Mat was my favorite professor in School Administration and I considered him a dear friend. I am so thankful that as a family you shared him with us. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories and stories that you have and the many friends that Dr. Mat as well as this dear family have. Murray lost a wonderful ambassador and man! The family is in my thoughts and prayers.
