I will always have wonderful memories of my Uncle Hoyte. He was a wonderful brother to my daddy and a wonderful & sweet uncle to me. He shared many emails with me in our shared love of planes and flying! I will miss Uncle Hoyte so much and I loved him very much. Love, Barbie

Hoyte's family,

Just wanted you to know that we will miss Bette and Hoyte. When we moved into the neighborhood 25 years ago. Hoyte and my former husband were talking and Hoyte mentioned he was a Georgia Tech grad. Well, we hired Bulldog movers so Hoyte knew the "Dawgs" were in the neighborhood:)

He loved going to the games and also watching them on tv. One day my daughter and I were visiting him at home and he had 3 games going at once!

We will miss him!

I am going to really miss Sam. I enjoyed seeing him over the years at the squadron reunions. I always looked forward to his emails. He had become a good friend.

To Hoyte's family: We are so very sorry for your loss-- it is our loss, too. We loved Hoyte. We knew him for about 55 years, and always enjoyed sharing time with he and Bette and you all.

Hoyte hired Bob to work with him in the Columbus Office of the Georgia State Employment Service, Georgia Department of Labor, when Bob was 24 years old. Hoyte mentored Bob through a succession of jobs with increased responsibility, and we became fast friends.

Every month the Six by Six group, as Hoyte called it, would rotate to one another's house for dinner-- Hoyte and Bette, us, Bob and Mary Redmond, Ennis and Jessie Quinn, Sam and Sara Betty Steen, Jim and Marge Whichard, and Bill and Johnnylee McLeod.

When Hoyte transferred to become the Atlanta Area Supervisor, he brought Bob along to serve as the Atlanta Area Labor Market Analyst. When they both moved on to Federal Government, Hoyte to the U.S. Department of Labor, and Bob to the National Archives, we were still close, getting together often and making an annual trip to Panama City Beach.

There are so many memories, and we will miss him- and Bette.

May God bless and keep you all.
