Mr. Sam L. Brannen

Sam Brannen was a man of talent and ability who used these gifts to assist his community and state. He had a cool head and a warm heart. Much of the progress in our community happened, because of his leadership and care. Suzanne, their children and grandchildren should know that many citizens do share their sorrow and lament his untimely passing.

Mr Brannen you will certainly be missed. Your encourging words long ago was much of driving force to who I have become. You were like family to my "MOM". And, to the family may God be with you and give patience necessary to honor his final wishes. He loved you all and so do I. Mr Brannen, RIP. "Tessa"

I am very saddened about Sam's passing. Please know that you all are all held in thought and prayer.

Dear Suzanne and Family....I was saddened to read about Sammy's passing. We're sorry...but had no idea he was sick. When we were children, Roger and I enjoyed many fun-filled, care-free days on Mr. Sam's cow farm with Sammy. Mr. Sam, Kat, and Sammy were family to us. We'll miss Sammy. God bless you all.

Being very new to the area and about a year ago began working for the City of Statesboro my path crossed with Mr. Sam several times. One of the things I remember was being in his office several months ago and noticing the pictures of Williamsburg, Virginia in his office conference room. That made me feel so at home being a native of Virginia. He will be missed.

I was reared in claxton, ga but I live in Jacksonville, Fla , I traveled to
Statesboro, Ga on Sept 15th ,2008 and met Mr. Brannen , A God fearing man and one who patiently listened to me. He grew to be like A Father,
A Counciler, and a Friend. When I Heard he was sick , I send him a
Fruit Basket to say " Thanks". I will miss him. My Sympathy I Send to

Very sorry to hear about Sam. We went to SHS together and he was my fraternity Big Brother at Emory. I know he will be missed.

Mr. Brannen was a very kind and intellegent attorney who always had time to talk with me and answer any questions we may have had. He was more than our attorney, he was a great friend who we will sadly miss. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brannen family during this difficult time.

Farewell to a Good Friend! and Good Lawyer.

We were so sorry to hear about Sam. I went to school with him, played football with him, and he was an usher in our wedding. He was always the consumate Southern gentlemen, never too busy to talk to you and was always a good listner. We will keep you all in our prayers.

My heart was truely saddened when I heard of the passing of Sam. He was not only my lawyer but a real friend. He always offered Barney and I legal advise not only from his knowledge of the law, but so very often from his heart. I will miss him greatly, but I know that our loss is Heaven's Gain!

Sam was the epitome of the kind, positive, warm Southern lawyer. I liked him a lot and am deeply saddened by his passing. I imagine he is discussing important cases now in Heaven with Hugo Black and John Marshall. I hope one day he will make room for me. Knowing him, he would.
