We send heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family of Sammy Basso. He will be missed by all who loved him. He will be remembered as an educator, a molecular biologist and spokesperson for the progeria patient community, for his ability to find laughter in almost anything, his positive attitude, and for his humorous personality that always shone through. He has been described as "remarkable, brilliant but down-to-earth, serious but funny, charismatic but deeply kind." Thank you, Sammy! Your legacy will continue.
Sammy made many comments that stand out to me, including these: "Progeria is a small part of my life, because it only affects the body." "Progeria does not prevent me to have a happy life."
Please continue to cherish your good memories of Sammy, and may they provide some comfort for you. May prayers strengthen you and God´s loyal love always comfort and sustain you. Psalm 23
