As a friend of Sam's for over 50 years, I have many fond memories of vacations, dinners, parties and yearly traditional get togethers. He was a wonderful man and I continued to visit him during his time at Sunrise. I will miss him dearly. From his Long Time Friend, Joy Hambrook

In the forties, I believe that Sam worked with my father in Calgary at BA Oil. If my memory serves me right, Sam is my Godfather. The line of communication was broken some time ago, but I do remember being told that Sam Foote was my Godfather.

Sincere condolences to the family and many friends of Sam Foote. Mr. Foote was a regular and valued user of the Aurora Public Library for many years and as an employee there, I always appreciated his warm and friendly greeting. I was especially delighted to learn that he and my father were classmates at U of T back in the 30s.

I will always treasure my childhood memories of time spent with Uncle Sam. He had such a wonderful sense of humour & was a warm, caring man. I will be forever grateful to him for providing us with such a detailed family tree. It will be his legacy & I will try my best to preserve all of his hard work as our family historian. Although I was adopted he never made me feel any less a part of the Foote family. Please give my Grandparents a hug for me. We will miss you Uncle Sam. Greg & Julie Brunk

Uncle Sam had a rare and delightful playful intelligence. At family gatherings, he would invent games for the kids and cousins that involved throwing balls over rooftops, and opening string-tied packages using spoons and forks. He cared about family. He is irreplaceable.
