While I hadn't seen Uncle Mickey in many years, I do remember him as I was growing up. He was so funny and he made me laugh. My condolences to the family.

Mickey,

You gave me some of the greatest gifts life has to offer. You gave me your love, unconditionially, and always treated like a son. You gave me the opportunity to become a part of your great family. Lastly, you gave me your wonderful daughter's hand in marriage, and for that I am forever greatful. We will surely miss you, but your love will carry on through those that knew you.

I love you Mickey.

Dad,

It didn't matter when I came to see you or what time it was-you always had a smile on your face for me. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to come and visit you on my Seattle runs down to South Park and all the other times. From day one-until we said our last I love you and goodbye you were always there for me. Thank you Dad!! You will always be in our hearts. Brittany, Max and I love you and will miss you.

My cousin Mickey was truly one of a kind. His exuberance and love of life were evident in all he did. It is clear his greatest love was his family.

In my world, Mickey was older, smarter, and so much more sophisticated than I (his younger cousin). I watched him with an attitude best described as "awe". He seemed magical to me.

I always wanted an older brother, but none would ever have been equal to this cousin of mine who seemed larger than life to me as I was growing up.

My mother Marilyn shared stories of Mickey as a young boy When she and my father,Jim, were first dating. She talked about how totally handsome he was. The first time she met him she was impressed with his dark hair, big smile and huge eyes. The fact that he was sporting a pretty good shiner also endeared him to her.

He would come to my parents house to stay with them after their marriage. Mom says he wanted to play Monopoly all the time. They would average three games a day. "And you know how long it takes to play Monopoly" Mom concluded.

My Dad and Mickey worked together, golfed together, fought and laughed together too. That's pretty much a given with the Salvatore family.

As I became an adult I grew to admire Mickey for so many other qualities. His love of family and friends. His incredible sense of humor, and these last years the near super-human courage and strength he posessed.

I will always love and miss him. I believe the world is both less colorful, and less interesting without him in it.

The greatest legacy and testament to his life, are the family and friends he loved so during his lifetime. You are all fine, fine people.

You are all in my thougths and prayers.

Love,

Lynn

Sue and family:

I am so deeply sorry to hear about Mickey. We had so many wonderful memories growing up with Judy and Mickey and Dora and Sam. I can still see him laughing at the tavern and seeing Ray Zinc come in. He brought many good times with mom and all of the Anderson family. On behalf of our family our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. God bless you all and thanks for the memories. He was a wonderful man and friend. Gayle and Trina and Gina.

Susan and family,

I'm sure I don't need to tell you how much I loved Mickey. I thought I was the luckiest of all because Judy and Mick were not just my cousins, but my God parents. My prayers are with all of you all. We will always miss his great sense of humor, and that great smile.

I love you all.

Dad,

I know that you loved me and I am so sorry that the chip I carried on my shoulder discouraged me from making more of an effort towards our relationship. Thank you for not leaving us before I was able to see you again! I love you and miss you tremendously. You are in my heart forever!

Susan and Family,

So many memories! Most recently the System luncheons. We always had such a good time with him. I am sure he is still talking and waving his hands and making his point. Our hearts go out to all of you. Love,

Susan and all the Lazar family..

I will truly miss Mick.. he always made me feel like I was one of the family.. His joking manner, hand gestures, and laughter will always be in my heart..

I will think of mickey every time I hear the Frank Sinatra song "My Way".. One line from that song seems to truly be Mickey,"I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way"...I can still picture him dancing with Lee at the wedding..He was a class act..

I hope he knew how much I cared for him and all of you...

All of my love.. I know that Mick is at peace and my prayers are with you in this very sad time..

Dad,

Grandpa Sam told me a story about a baseball that he hit when he was a little boy. He told me that he hit the ball so far; they were still looking for it. Please help Grandpa find the baseball and tell him his grandson says hello. I love you Dad, your son.
