Oh no. I sailed 10 or more deliveries with Jackson in the 80s on boats such as Vintage, Septembor Morn, Konnie Jay (sp?), and others i can't recall. Always an adventure. Always fun. He managed to assemble amiable crews, and he was always confident and calm, even when the weather wasn't. Those were fun times for me.
Career and kids got in the way of more trips, but I figured we'd reconnect once I retired and had abundant free time. I know our friendship would have picked right up where it left off so many years ago, and I expected we'd reminisce of all those adventures and ports, rough seas, broken rudder quadrants, overheating engines, almost running out of fuel, not to mention a big bale of pot floating off the bahamas.......
Can't believe I'm now retired but he has sailed over the bar, guess I should have quit sooner and he certainly should have lived longer.

Jackson was one of my best friends. He was always such a a positive, fun and accomplished Mariner. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.
Sail on my friend. See you in another harbor.

I am so sorry to see this and learn of Jackson's passing. My husband and I and a group of close friends were fortunate enough to have sailed with him twice, once on Capitol Gain and once on Of Course. We met and fell in love with Ann E and Jackson, even went to ST Barth to attend their beautiful union. He was so full of life, fun and adventure. Some of the best vacation memories we have were with them. I was always filming and so he called me Cecil B Barbara. My heart goes out to you Ann E, you were so lucky to have had the time you spent together. Barbara and Jim Lichtenwalter along with Ann and Bob McAfee

So sad to hear that we've lost another classmate from our Washington High School class of 1963. I actually was able to get to know Jack better during our time at ECU. And it was good to see him again at our 50th class reunion. This past December, he and I had a long telephone conversation. At that time, he was looking forward to our 60th reunion next month, even though he was still in treatment and recovery. Prayers being lifted up for comfort and peace for his family.

I was fortunate to enjoy many fun times with Jackson in the Virgin Islands, and continued our friendship here in south Florida. He was a Great Man, Great Captain, and Great Friend. My condolences go out to Annie and his family members. Sail on my brother. Fair winds and following seas...

My deepest sympathies Ann. We so much enjoyed Jackson taking care of our yacht, "Never Say Never Again". You are a remarkable woman and I´ve always respected you and Jackson´s work ethics. Plus the love the 2 of you had for each other.
Take care, Allison
