SAMUEL YUKIO KAKAZU
YAGO: NISHIKAKAZU
Age 83, of Kaneohe, passed away on April 7, 2010. Born in Kailua, he retired from the State DOE. He served as a teacher, counselor or principal at Radford High, Campbell High, Dole Intermediate, Stevenson Intermediate, King Intermediate, Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate, Kalakaua Middle School and Benjamin Parker Elementary School.
Mr. Kakazu was a former president of Oroku Aza Jin Club and an Aikido instructor. He was an Army veteran and served in the Army Reserves, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; son, Samuel Jr.; daughters, Candyce (Thomas Jr.) Kaaiai; Roberta (Paul) Williams and Kersten (Richard) Haru; grandchildren, Everett and Cori Fujii; Ihilani and Hi'ilei Haru; sisters, Jean (Roland) Takasato, Mary Lou Rabe, Haruko Chun and Louise (George) Kawagoe; sisters-in-law, Jane Kakazu and Michiyo Kakazu, Trudy Kakazu.
VISITATION FROM 3:00 P.M. ON SUNDAY, MAY 2, 2010, AT HOSOI GARDEN MORTUARY; FUNERAL SERVICE AT 4:00 P.M.
