Iris, I'm so sorry for your family's lose. "Putney" will truly be missed, by so many, at Gillfield Baptist Church and the surrounding Petersburg community. He's left so many good memories to share. I pray that God's continued blessings of peace and comfort will remain with you throughout this time.

I was Honored to meet Deacon Putney on Oct 10, 2020 when he walked his Daughter, Samantha down to aisle to join my Nephew, Mark Jones Jr in Holy Matrimony. At the conclusion of the momentous ceremony we greeted one another by gesture and elbow bump. We talked for a while as we remained masked due to COVID-19. He was very gracious being a Modern DaY Disciple of our Lord. No doubt he was truly LOVED and will be sadly missed by family members and friends who he touched in a special way with his exceptional character. Our Lord truly has an Angelic Deacon in Glory.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of my lifelong friend. I am eternally grateful for the many occasions we shared each others company as we progressed through school and grew into adulthood. Thank you for being a good friend and brother.

We were so heart broken when we heard your husband, father, and grandfather had passed. We’ve lived in the neighborhood with you guys for 29 years and he always greeted us with a smile or a friendly wave. That will be missed. May God hold you close to him and our prayers are with you. Just remember, we are just a few houses down. The Waltons
