SAMUEL STEPHEN SENGELMANN III, age 56, of Houston, Texas, died Tuesday, the 23rd of September 2008, in Hamilton, Texas. Steve was born in Houston on the 11th of December 1951. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Robin Overton Sengelmann; his daughter Sarah Jane Sengelmann and her fiance James Ross Canion; his son Robert Stephen Sengelmann and his wife Mariann; his father Dr. S.S. Sengelmann D.D.S. and his mother Alice Ann Ward Sengelmann; his sister Betsy Elick and her family of Bellville, TX; and his brother Bill Sengelmann and his family. He is also survived by his beloved nieces, Josephine and Sophia Overton, as well as Robin's siblings, Laura Overton Wheless, Maudie Overton Beard, and Robert Carter Overton, III , and their families. A special thank you is extended to his beloved niece, Laura Wheless Hilgers, R.N. Steve was loved by many friends, especially his "Red Room Group," Co-Workers at Action Handling Systems, his ranch family at The Lightning "C" Ranch, and his God daughter, Mary Margaret Porter, as well as the Guerrero family. A memorial service will be conducted at four o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 30th of September, in the sanctuary of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3471 Westheimer Road in Houston, where Rev. Justin Coleman will serve as the officiant. Immediately following the service, all are invited to join the family for a reception in the adjacent Hines Baker Room on the church campus. In celebration of Steve's life, contributions in his memory may be directed to the Hamilton General Hospital's Children's Memorial located at HGH Aux, 400 N. Brown, Hamilton, TX, 76531; or to Casa de Esperanza, P.O. Box 66581, Houston, TX, 77266.
