So very sad to hear of Sam passing away. I will always remember our luncheons together on Secretary Day. He was a special friend of my Dads. I would enjoy our conversations very much when he would come to visit me at the office. He was a very special man who touched many lives in so many ways. He will be sadly missed. My love and prayers go out to Russel and Debbie and your families. Love Donna Hayden Citak and family.

Sam Thompson was an integral part of our business and personal lives for well over a decade. He was someone whom we could all turn to for whatever support we needed both professionally and as a friend. His loyalty, commitment, and enthusiasm are something that will dearly be missed by all. He never hesitated to go the extra mile to accomplish a tough task and in doing so he lead by example. The amazing thing about Sam was that not only could he educate you on just about every conceivable subject, but he was a thoughtful mentor in the process. Sam was genuinely interested in our daily work as well as our family life. The team at work loved him and our families and friends loved him. We looked up to Sam like a Father. He embodied the quintessential qualities of a wonderful employee, person, and most of all, our dear friend. Sam has etched a placed in our lives, our hearts, and our souls. He will forever be remembered by all of us here at Wallingford Auto Park.

I met Sam probably 20 years ago at Nisa's Variety on East Center Street in Wallingford. A group of us gathered there practically every night, and Sam regaled us with many stories. He definitely had a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humor. I think his favorite word was "fabulous." He spoke of his grandchildren often and loved them with all of his heart. He will be missed, no doubt about it, but he lived a truly fabulous life.

I am so sorry that Sam has passed on, Sam possessed a wealth of information, knowledge and wisdom as well as wit. It was a priviledge to have known him. The world was a better place with him in it.

I am very sorry to hear of Sam's passing. I first met Sam in 1967 when he interviewed me for an engineering job position for Packer Machine Co. in Meriden. He also went to work at Packer, and I worked with him on many projects!!Years later in the 1995 Sam called and wanted me to meet a "Russian Dr. Massarsky" because he had a "fantastic" machine for de-burring aircraft turbane discs!! and he needed an "American" engineer to design the control systems for the U.S. market. Sam worked with me and others to help accomplish this goal, which took us from the backwoods of N.H. to Wallingford CT. where the first U.S. machine was designed and built!!
Sam was a go-getter and did so with a lot of professionalism and persuasion!!
Sam was one of the"good guys"!!!
