Samuel G. Warren PINEY FLATS, Tenn. I have fought a good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith - II Timothy 4:7. Mr. Samuel G. Warren, 69, went to be with Jesus on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was welcomed at the gate by his beloved daughter, Stephanie Elaine Warren; granddaughter, Cassidie Warren; parents, Clyde and Irma C. Warren; brother, Ronald Warren; and a host of other family and friends. Sam was a 1962 graduate of Mary Hughes High School. He had served with the U.S. Army Reserves, was a member of the M.M. Martin Masonic Lodge, and was also a member of Piney Flats First Baptist Church. He was an employee of the Kingsport Press for 41 years. Sam was a wonderful husband, dad, pawpaw, son, brother, uncle and friend! Left to mourn his "going home," is his wife of 47 years, Kay Baird Warren; his son, Allen Warren; his grandsons and granddaughter, whom he loved more than anything, Samuel Allen Warren, William Noah Warren and Dianna Warren - "We love you Pawpaw;" his twin sister, Sandy Warren Hunter, whom he adored, and her husband, Bob Hunter; sister, Virginia Rutherford and husband, Harold; big brothers, Otis Warren and wife, Martha, and Donald Warren; sister-in-love, Martha Keefauver-Warren; special nieces and nephews, Donna and Dennis Cox, Carol, Marty, Sydnie, Riley, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:45 p.m., Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m., with Dr. Allen Davis officiating. The committal and interment will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, Piney Flats, with Dr. Allen Davis and Pastor Justin Vaughn officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at Oakley-Cook Funeral Home by 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, to travel in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Warren, Samuel Warren, Noah Warren, Dennis Cox, Bob Morse, Ed Vansant, Stephen Hunter, Lawrence Baird, Junior Shipley and Luther Blevins. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bob Hunter, Bill Wilson, Bruce Pealer, Allen Shipley, Gary Shipley, "Pud" Cross, Justin Vaughn, Bob Thomas, Gene Williams, Bill Baird, Steve King, Bill Callahan, Don Callahan, George Williams, Andrew McMaster, Dr. F. Alan Forbush, Dr. Leslie Panus, Kenneth Ray, James Ray, and all remaining nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Piney Flats First Baptist Church, 100 Cherry Street, Piney Flats, TN, 37686, or to Saint Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1650 Allison Road, Piney Flats, TN, 37686. Special thanks to Fresenius Medical Care Dialysis Center as well as two special nurses in the 2700 ICU, Amanda Hall and Lori, for the compassionate care they gave to Sam.
