Sam proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in both Canada and Florida, as well as spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving family: children, Joseph (Terry) Will of Wellston, John (Glena) Will of Madison, WV., and Joyce (Bob) Mulligan, of Little Hocking; six grandchildren: Brandie (Joe) Styron, Susan Will, Wesley Will, Andy Mulligan, Sean Mulligan and Heidi Wyckoff; and three great-grandchildren: Gabriella Styron, Aiden and Ansen Thorne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Susan Will in April, 2013, infant daughter and Joyce's twin, Joan Beth who passed soon after birth, and his step-father, William Simmons.

A funeral service celebrating Sam's life will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway, Wellston, with Pastor James Boring officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Hamden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 1, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Masonic services will commence at 7:30 p.m.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Douglas Jones and the staff of Jenkins Care Community for the care that has been given to Sam over the last 15 months.
