Dear dr. San Hwang. You were one of the greatest mentor that I ever had in my life. You were not only my teacher and mentor but also like a father to all of us SCU acupuncture student. Your class was one of the hardest class but you were always fair and kind to us.
I can never thank you enough for all the knowledge that you have shared with us.
Your the practitioner that one day I hope to be (even though no one will ever be able to replace you).
Thank you so much dr Hwang.

Dr. Hwang, you will always have a special place in my heart. You were an amazing and patient practitioner and teacher. But more than that, you were a confidant and friend. You will be missed more than you can imagine. I hope you continue to watch over all of us (your former students) from Heaven above.

Dear Dr. Hwang,
You were a great teacher, mentor, and the nicest colleague ever I can think of. We rarely come across people like you who are so well-versed in both Eastern and Western Medicine and provide a rationale for each needle and herb you use. Hats Off to you, Sir! Your absence is a great void that is difficult to fill in the TCM World. Thank you, Dr. Hwang! May your soul rest in peace!!!

Dr. Hwang, you were not just a teacher and a mentor to me. You were like my father. I was a new blood in the acupuncture profession in 1992. You taught me everything. You had a great confidence on me and asked me take care of your clinic when you had car accident in 1994. That really meant a lot to me. You recommended me to be the Dean of SBU when you stepped down from the deanship. You introduced me 15 years ago to SCU as founding Dean.
You were always there to guide me and support me whenever I had challenge. That really helped me to learn and grow. I cherished this apprenticeship. I remembered you taught me always put myself in the student's position when I counselling or helping students. Thus improved my relationship with students. I also applied the same philosophy to the faculty. Without you, there will be no me today.
Dr. Hwang, I will remember forever your passion and love for teaching and helping people (faculty, students and patients). I hope I can continue your footsteps for the traditional Chinese Medicine.
You will be greatly missed!
Rest in Peace

Words cannot express the gratitude of knowing and being taught by you. They cannot express the deep sadness in knowing that you have transitioned. You will be missed greatly. We can be comforted by knowing you are no longer suffering and have found peace. Rest now.

If I can describe Dr. Hwang in one word then I will choose the word "stoic". That's was my first impression of the man. But that's is a misleading word. Beacuse Dr. Hwang is the most compassionate person. He will not show much on his face but through his devotion to his students and patients we can see the true nature of the man.
It is a profound lost to the TCM community as well as to those who adores him.
Good bye Dr. Hwang. Blessful journey to the western world.

To my mentor,
You have taught me much more than beyond the classroom, humility, integrity, compassion, and love of helping others. It was such a joy and honor to be mentored by you. These are the life lessons I base my career on now. And you will be dearly missed. May you rest in peace and know that you left a lasting and memorable legacy.
