Dr. Sandra "Sandi" Mary Nagel

Miss you, mom.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. Sandi would light up the room each time she entered cardiac rehab. We developed a wonderful connection and she even made my son and his girlfriend their corsages for prom. I will miss her beautiful smile and loving energy. May God give you comfort.

Sandi's bright spirit, passion for life, and intense love for her family will always be remembered, by all who knew her. That passion and spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren.

Sandi approached everything with an indomitable spirit and achieved a great deal in her personal life and academic work. I knew her as both a high-school classmate and a colleague later in life, and saw how a pretty and sociable girl grew to be an esteemed and hard-working professional. She had a quick and inquiring mind that she skillfully applied to her teaching and research. She will be missed. My condolences to her family.

The world lost a beautiful soul. As you grieve, know you are in our thoughts. The love of a mother can never be replaced, you carry her in your heart always. As her cousin, I cherish so many wonderful memories both laughs and heart felt. I will never forget her. Your spouse left this world far too soon, I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

I have such fond memories of Sandi - Girl Scout camp when we were little, band trips with Kirsten as we grew older and a positive social media connection in my adult life. The Matigian family sends their love and support during this very difficult time.

We corresponded on an early Psych Teaching list, and became colleagues as she came on board at SVSU. She was creative and persistent in all endeavors, and I found her to be a valuable friend and addition to our educational team. Her courage, humor, and upbeat approach to the struggles she faced was inspirational.

The perfect words for such an outstanding woman who lived and loved her life to the fullest!

She was a great colleague and wanted to try different ways of reaching out to students and took leadership in trying different ways of assessment. I cherish her "Breeziway" creations for our special event! May her soul rest in peace.

The world will miss this beautiful woman. May her soul bless all those she loved and cared for.
