I have many fond memories of Sandy when I worked with her at Mercy. She was like a mother to us younger staff and instilled in all of us the importance of voting. I remember laughing hysterically when she ordered a new cleaner when cleaning the whirlpool and a couple minutes later foam and bubbles were coming out the door!!!! We had a lot of good times!
My sympathy and love to the family.

I knew Sandy for several years when she worked in P.T. at Mercy. She was kind of a do-it-all staff member and always did what needed to be done. I was just thinking about Sandy the other day and then unfortunately saw that she had passed. I'm sorry for the loss to her family. Grant Carter-Mercy Medical Center

We were very sorry to learn of Mrs. Sturms passing. Our family has nothing but very pleasant memories of our years as neighbors and friends on 29th and 30th Streets. She was so nice to all of the neighborhood kids. Our deepest sympathy to the entire Sturm family.

Sandy and I were classmates at
Roosevelt high school class of
1956. She had a very special way of lighting up a room and the lives of everyone she knew! She loved her classmates!
May memories of Sandy comfort you through the sorrow.
With Deepest Sympathy to Ray
and family,

So sad to lose our classmates. Our high school years together at RHS were some of the most memorable times of our lives. Sandy was always outgoing and friendly to everyone. I always admired Sandy for her bubbly personality and her genuine support of school activities and other classmates who participated. She and Ray were kind and caring, and touched many lives with their thoughtfulness. I graduated RHS in Sandy's class in 1956.
My deepest condolences to Ray and her family.

Our prayers for peace and comfort for Ray and the whole family. Jim and I have been friends with them since high school. When we were first married we lived across the street from each other on 3rd St. N.W. Then Sandy and I cheered for their softball team for many summers.
Sandy was a wonderful lady, who was very caring and compassionate. She and Ray helped many people. In the picture you chose, I can just hear her saying, Tell me how you are doing. She told me she did not mind dying, but she was just concerned about leaving Ray.
God bless you all. Jim and Percy Caviness

We are saddened to learn of Sandy's passing and extend our sympathy to Ray and her entire family. We shared many special high school memories with both Sandy and Ray--they were true friends during our sometimes tumultuous courtship. Bob was honored to be Sandy's escort in the Homecoming Court and to be a member of their wedding party. Bob and Ray were roommates their freshman year at UNI. It was always a joy to see them at our reunions. Knowing that her long ordeal is over is comforting to us and hopefully to her family, as well. We send our love to you, Ray. Bob and Kay Hamed
