Sandra Louise Teeter passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years in La Mesa CA on September 1, 2025. She was in hospice care at the end, with her children in attendance.

Born Sandra Louise Godell to Louise (née Luisa Jean Caruso) and Vincent Paul (Vince) Godell on May 29, 1938, in Schenectady NY, she grew up with older brothers Glenn and David and a younger brother, Mark. She attended Scotia-Glenville High School in Scotia NY, graduating in 1955.

Sandra married Robert W. (Bill) Farrand on September 28, 1957, in Albany NY and had three children with him: William Patrick (Bill) Farrand (now of Washington DC), Michael Joseph (Mike) Farrand (Brattleboro VT), and Carol Elaine Farrand (Washington DC). They lived first in Albany NY, where their first child was born, then in Berkeley CA, where their next two entered the world. Bill served first on naval ships as lieutenant in the United States Navy before relocating to Annapolis MD where h taught economics in the U.S. Naval Academy for three years. Sandra served with the family on diplomatic posts in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (1965-67) and Moscow, USSR (1968-70), while her husband represented the country as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer.

Sandra lived with her children in Chevy Chase MD for a year before moving to Vermont with them and Benjamin R. (Ben) Teeter of Baltimore MD, a master carpenter. Together they built a home in Hardwick, where they resided for a couple years (1971-73). While in Vermont, she completed her studies at Goddard College in Plainfield and married Ben on September 28, 1972 in Hardwick VT.

Moving to the Richmond VA area in the summer of 1973, she became a real estate agent there, subsequently establishing Rainbow Realty as a broker with her second husband. She and Ben later sold land in Florida for Deltona.

Sandra lived for many years in the San Diego CA area, including times in La Jolla and Chula Vista. She served the community as a psychological therapist for many years, earning her doctorate in the field.

Sandra retired to East Haven VT in the early 2000s where she enjoyed playing tennis in nearby St. Johnsbury. She had a great enthusiasm for life and people. She was a very fashionable dresser with an excellent eye for detail. She loved to celebrate all the holidays with great food and cheer. She was an inveterate reader and avid puzzler, especially with crosswords and sudoku. Sandra had a generous soul and she will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her older brother, Glenn (of Rensselaer NY), and younger brother, David (Houston TX). Her youngest brother, Mark, lives in Melbourne FL.
