Sandra Dale Brock Vitek of Cocoa Beach, FL,  passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021.  Sandy was born to the late William O. Brock and Anna "Myrtle" Powell Brock Glenn of Hampton, VA.  She spent her youth in Hampton, VA., then relocated to Baltimore, MD, where she met and married Anthony J. Vitek, Jr., and raised their six children.  Sandy's retirement path led her to Cocoa Beach, FL. where she enjoyed life; thriving in the warmth and sunshine, near the beach and always a furry rescue or two with her. 

Sandy is survived by five of her children: Jeri McDaniel, Anthony J. Vitek, III (Donna), Joan Carlton, Robert Vitek (Leslie) and Richard Vitek (Catina); her grandchildren Gabrielle (McDaniel) Riley (Brian), Melissa (Vitek) Becker (Kevin), Ryan Vitek (Trish), Justin Vitek, AJ Vitek (Alex), Allyson (Carlton) Hollis (Stu), Brooke Carlton (Tim), Samantha Vitek and Campbell Vitek; and 10 great grandchildren.   With the exception of Brooke Carlton of Portland, OR, all reside in various parts of Maryland.

Sandy is survived by five of her eight siblings: sisters Judy (Brock) Hale (Jim) of Cape Canaveral, FL, Carol (Brock) Rogers (Tim) of Gloucester, VA, Lynne Brock-Silvernale (Bob) of Winsted, CT, Marcia Brock (Billy) of Roanoke, VA, brother Bradley Glenn of FL, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family all over the US.   

Sandy was preceded in death by her dear son Michael Stephen Vitek of Baltimore, MD, her dear grandson Brandon Thomas McDaniel of Baltimore, MD.,  and brothers William Brock of St. Louis, MO, Ronald Brock of TX,  and Stephen Brock of FL.

A memorial service for Sandy will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, 1:00p.m. at the Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601.  Internment will immediately follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Newport News, VA

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your local animal rescue organization or your local food bank to continue Sandy's generous spirit.
