Sandy grew up across the street from my home. I loved going over to her house, as they had a stairway up to the attic! In the summer, we´d have to have the windows up there open, as you can imagine how hot it could get, yet we still had fun playing "dress-up"! When she started kindergarten, I´d go over to her house and we´d walk together. She went through some sad times, when her father died when I believe she was in 3rd grade, and shortly after, when she went to the neighborhood grocery store, her cocker spaniel followed she and her mother, and the dog, was killed by a passing car!

We continued to be close friends, then sorta drifted a bit when I was in high school, then, college in Columbia, Missouri...then moved to Indianapolis to Nursing School.

We reconnected when I was widowed and moved to Pretty Lake, just west/south west of Angola, Indiana. Her brother had had a heart attack, resulting having a bypass, and was stabilized and discharged back to his home, there at Pretty Lake, RIP so, being Sandy wasn´t comfortable driving on expressways, I drove her up to see him. She did like the area, so when Maury was going to coach at a college in the Fort Wayne area, they moved to Pretty Lake... and finally to to a condo in northern part of Fort Wayne.

Was so sorry when I learned of Sandy´s health issues, but was a very lucky to have a very loving husband and family. Although, there are tears of today, we are fortunate to have God´s give of being able to keep her with you through fond memories that can be passed down through the following generations!

RIP, my friend!
