HANAUER--Sanford, 91 of Greenport, NY. Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully last week. Sandy is survived by his teenage love and wife Sue, daughters Judy and Linda and grandson Alex. He and Sue met at summer camp in their mid-teens and shared a true romance and partnership in their nearly 70 years of marriage. Sandy blended his artistic talents and business acumen as a successful commercial interior designer, founding his own design firm in the basement of the family's home after many years at a large New York City design company. He and Sue travelled the world together on trips meticulously planned by him and enjoyed a myriad of cultural events in their beloved NYC. All who knew Sandy were inspired by his creativity, intelligence, love of the arts and sense of humor. A memorial will be announced at a later date. Contributions in his memory can be made to East End Hospice.
