Mr. and Mrs. Tanner gave my son, John, his first lawn mower and snow shovel with demonstration. Regretfully, just a memory without a photo, that I will always treasure. Respectfully, Maureen White

Sanford Tanner was a dear and wonderful gentleman. I knew him through the Spicer Auction where he always greeted me with a smile and "How's Mrs. Jay." Even though my last name was Sutton he was fond of my son Jay and always greeted me this way. We talked about WWII as my father was in the army also. When he passed away at 100 Sanford was kind enough to express his sympathy. I will miss him and send his family love and sympathy. Lynda Sutton

I just enquired about Sanford-to a mutual Mike Corcoran auction friend; and was saddened about the news of his passing. In reading this obituary I learned how diversified his professional interests were, and know how much he was respected and loved....by everyone. I will miss his twinkling eyes and the reflection of the lost generation that made our country great.
Being Capricorn's...12/25/ and 12/26...we enjoyed talking about being long- ago Christmas babies, and how special this was; a gift within itself.
United with his true love and loved by family and friends....outstanding!

To Richard and the Tanner family. So sorry for your loss. I have known Sanford for about 35 years. I traveled to many of the same functions Sanford did. I remember when I was at an onsite antique auction and I bought an antique item. Sanford walked up to me and asked " Marvin, why did you pay so much for that item?" I said " gee Sanford I thought I got a bargain." we both started to laugh. Sanford was a good guy and a real gentleman.
