Dr Bhatia performed our daughter Annes surgery for Craniosynostosis when she was 5 months old. We were very confident putting her in his hands. She is now 9 years old and was just going through her hospital keepsake box asking what Dr Bhatia looks like. When I searched his photo online, we learned he passed in 2018. So very sad the medical world has lost such a respected Doctor. Our sympathies to Dr Bhatias family and medical team.

I had no idea of his passing, but I ran across his card today and googled him for an up-date. Shocking. He operated on me as an adult and really made a difference in the quality of my life. May his memory continue to be a blessing.

Thinking of you Dr. Bhatia, Rita, and the boys every day. Always in my heart. I have wonderful memories of - yes how family imposes - we've a doctor in the family! So many calls about sick doggies, family members not well and always met with a happy voice filled with concern and following with spot on medical advice saving us entirely of our upset. I remember your happy face so full of life. Miss you very much Sanjiv. And thank you for everything.

Dr. Sanjiv, so kind, so extraordinarilly brilliant. Touched so many lives. lives that would not have been lived to the fullest extent except for Dr. Bhatia. I think that I might be a cousin, married to sanjiv bhatia,your cousin. It doesn't matter.I think of you, Rita and the boys everyday.

We just opened the letter from the hospital and shocked and so saddened to hear this news about Dr. Bhatia. Our hearts were broken and I am not sure how the family is going through. My son had the ETV surgery successfully done by Dr. Bhatia 3 years back and we have been seeing him every year since then and our last visit was in March. He was looking healthy and always smile on his face gives all the strength to the patients. I pray god to give all the strength to his family in this difficult situation and may his soul be in peace. This is a major loss to the hospital and community and we are not sure if we will be comfortable enough with anyone else as we got so used to Dr. Bhatia. We truly miss him. Thank you for saving my son's life

Our family just got this news. I'm still in shock and very saddened by Dr. Bhatia passing. You passed away a day before Jaevon had his shunt revision. You were a superhero, a blessing to a lot of people you came across. My condolences to your family. Dr. Bhatia you will truly be missed and never be forgotten.

The world is a little less great without this man. The lives he touched are countless and the small neuro community will miss him a whole hell of a lot.

Our family just received this very difficult news. Dr. Bhatia performed two surgeries on our son. We were struck by his attentiveness and his care, and when I use the latter term, I don't only mean treatment, but also the plainest sense of this word. He cared about our son's well-being inside and outside the hospital and truly cared about his outcome. He was important in any meaningful way that word can be used. We trusted him unequivocally, we feel like we lost a family member and feel beyond heart-sick. There are losses we experience where we mourn for the family. This is one of those losses where we mourn for mankind.

My condolences to Dr. Bhatia's loved ones. My heart is broken. Dr. Bhatia was a wonderful man and loving caring doctor. I will never forget you and will be indebted to you the rest of my life for saving my granddaughter's life. Words cannot describe how much you will be missed. My deepest condolences. May you rest in peace Dr. Bhatia.

Dr. Sanjiv Bhatia, my husbands dearly beloved cousin. I always knew dr. Sanjiv as a kind happy kind light hearted soul along with his dear wife Rita & 2 sons. As families do we imposed upon him many times; doggies to be put down, aged parents coming to the end of their lives. He provided much kind comfort and advice nevertheless.

Dr. Bhatia as a delightful person , a most extraordinary physician who touched and changed beautifully so many young lives.

I never imagine this day to come.. I felt something empty in my heart... with many questions running through my mind.. Having you as Sammuel's doctors was one of the biggest blessings God has put in our path.. You took a year to define whether or not to operate my son's brain and just a month before God took you from us, you did, again a great and successful work. I can't thank you enough with just words for the help that surgery was in Sammuel's development, for all the patience and understanding you always had for us, for always having the positive side of the story, for always sharing your knowledge and giving us that confidence we needed.. In our hearts there will always be a place for you Dr. Bhatia and we will remember you with much love.

Wow. Truly an amazing physician. He saved my sons life at 23 days old w a vp shunt. We truly love him. Every follow up visit. So sad. Truly missed. Love to family

Dr. Bhatia was heaven sent to our family. He performed surgeries in June 2008 and November 2009 to address Madeline's insularseizures. She now is now entering her senior year and has been seizure free for 9 years! Madeline is a competitive volley player and desires to become a nurse. None of which would have been possible without Dr. Bhatia's efforts. He will be held in our grateful hearts forever. Many tears. Condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers. I'm completely devastated with the news that such an amazing surgeon has left us too soon. Here's the last picture I have of him with my youngest son on the second surgery he performed on him in 2015. Such an amazing individual and doctor. His legacy will live on as he has had such an extraordinary impact on so many lives. May he rest in peace.

Although Dr. Bhatia was never my surgeon, I did get the honor of getting to see him a few times for consult. He was such a sweet and reassuring presence. Right away I felt comfortable with him. He was so smart but was able to explain things in a way that a typical person could understand. He did so much for others and truly has left a legacy both at Miami children's and with the children and families in Haiti. I hope you find comfort and peace in the fact he helped countless children through his neurosurgery career and gave so much of himself to serve others. What an amazing example to all of us!

Grateful I was able to get a picture the last time we saw him. This man & his God-given talent saved our sons life when Ryan was only 8 days old. Dr. Bhatia has left this world, but will never be forgotten by our family. Thank you for your compassion and kindness. RIP.

Heartbroken and devastating news; Dr. Bhatia saved my son in 2016 from a non-incidental cavernoma, over 8 1/2 hr surgery and the confidence he excelled, the empathy he showed for my then 16yr old boy, with a constant sense humor on recovery and strength he gave us to move forward fast, is difficult to fathem his loss. We were to visit him in July, when my now 18yr old and 100% healthy was to be in Miami. Thank you again Dr.Bhatia! You took care of us as if we were family to him, as if my son was his only patient and gave us laughter and strength. We will miss you.
We wish his family, peace, strength and we send love and healing wishes.

We can hardly speak, as we just learned of Dr Bhatias passing. He will forever exist as one of our heros in life. He operated on our 13 year old daughter in 2013. His compassion and dedication to healing all children was unrivaled. My only regret is that we were not able to spend more time with him and his brilliant team at NCH. May peace be with his family and friends. He cannot be replaced.

This is beyond heartbreaking. Such an incredible man. Such an incredible loss.

This is absolutely devastating news! Dr. Bhatia was an exceptionally talented caregiver for our daughter. He performed surgery on her just weeks ago. Our daughter loves him and will miss him dearly as we will. We will keep him and his family and his colleagues at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital in our prayers.

Dr.Bhatia was an amazing physician,who changed the life of 9 months old name Londyn my grandbaby in 2013. He will never be forgotten. Condolences to the family.

Sanjiv and Rita have been wonderful and loyal friends to my sister and her family. They were by the side of my brother-in-law throughout his long and painful pancreatic cancer. Sanjiv took all three of my sisters' children - separately on medical missions to Haiti to work with children with hydrocephalus. They learned so much from him. Sanjiv and Rita graciously hosted my husband, son and myself when we were in Miami for my brother-in-law's funeral 2 years ago, and most recently we spent time with them at my niece's wedding in March. Sanjiv was a wonderful person. Our hearts are broken for his family. He will be missed.

Sad day indeed. As a Pediatric colleague, I can attest to his medical expertise and as a family memeber of a patient of his, I can attest to the genuine caring and compassionate person he was. My deepest condolences to his family. We have lost a great one .

I am truly saddened by the news of the passing of Dr. Bhatia. His mark in this world will be long lasting, with many lives touched by his kindness, healing, skills, and gentlemanliness.

As we all #fightforfrancesco no one fought harder than you. Dr B, you never had a moment of doubt about Francesco's diagnosis, plan or possibilities. I will never forget every single word from every single conversation we shared. My promises to you are to learn from what you have taught me. To treat my patients as you treated us and most of all to raise our baby boy with your presence in his life. Thank you good sir for your brilliance. Thank you for your guidance. This is the most heart breaking news I have received. On July 4,2016 Dr. Bhatia saved my sons life. I wouldn't have my son today if it weren't for him. My deepest condolences to the family. Our hearts are broken. I'm speechless. Very sad day.
