SANTINA CASCIATO Obituary
Peacefully on November 16, 2011, Sandy, age 81, formerly of Oakland. Beloved wife of Nicodemo; loving mother of Angelo, Antonio (Nancy) and Nick (Sandi); devoted grandmother of Michael, Zachary, Austin, Sarah, Jamin, Nico and Alexa; sister of Angie Casciato, Josephine Mitesser, Rose Scaramella, John and Vince Varano; preceded in death by seven siblings, also survived by loving nieces, and nephews. Friends welcomed in the JOHN N. ELACHKO FUNERAL HOME, 3447 Dawson St., Oakland, (412-682-3257) Saturday and Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Mass Monday 10:30 a.m. in St. Paul Cathedral. Internment Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Timothy Martin, Gateway Hospice and Harbour Assisted Living for the outstanding care that was provided to mom.

casiato familu.. I heard of your loss only today or I would have been down to the viewing .. although we have not seen each other in many years I have many good thoughts at your house on dawson St. and your mom was a big part of those times I am sorry for your loss as I know its not an easy time.. I just wanted to send my love to your family and tell you I remember your mom with great fondness.. scincerly Merle

We send Sandy's family our hartfelt condolences and prayers. Sandy will long be remembered as a very familiar face around Seaside United Methodist Church and a ready participant in events whenever she could. She will be missed, but we are confident that her illnesses no longer plague her and that she is whole, and peaceful in the presence of God. Joan and Dale Powell

Dear Nick and Family,
We were friends of Sandy's at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach and enjoyed having her read the Scripture in Sunday School. We were also able to visit with Sandy and Nick at Christmas parties or other social gatherings . We offer our condolences on your loss. May God give you comfort at this sad time. Ron and Pat Melvin

Dear Family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Sandy was a very dear, faithful member of our Sunday School at Seaside United Methodist Church in Sunset Beach, NC. What a lady she was, coming on Sundays even when she did not feel very well - so, so faithful, trusting in her Personal Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was an inspiration for how she kept going to Sunday School and church when she was so sick. We also miss Nick, as he would come with Sandy to special functions. May God richly bless Nick and his family.
