Fredon - Sara L. Budd, 71, of Fredon, NJ passed away at Newton Medical Center on Friday, June 18, 2021.
Sara was born on January 27, 1950 to Fred and Florence (Savacool) Gouger. She was raised in Blairstown, NJ and graduated Blairstown High School in 1968. She was married to the late Henry "Ed" Budd in 1969 and shared 38 years of marriage prior to Ed's passing in 2007.
Sara was a property manager for a family-owned business. Prior to that she worked at the First National Bank of Hope for many years.
Sara will be greatly missed by her daughters, Christina Liuzza of Fredon, NJ and Jennifer (Christopher) Breslin of Great Meadows, NJ. Her grandchildren Carmen J. Liuzza III, Sara Rose Liuzza, Christie Liuzza and Kayla Breslin were her pride and joy. She is survived by her brother Fred Gouger Jr, and sisters Nancy Davis and Clarinda Stoffels, and many nieces and nephews. Sara was predeceased by her son-in-law Carmen J. Liuzza Jr.
Sara was a member and past Grand Chaplain of the Order of the Eastern Star, and past President of the Blairstown High School Alumni Association. She was a past member of the Ladies of the American Legion Post 258 and the Blair Women's Club. She was a current member and Trustee of Walnut Valley United Methodist Church in Blairstown.
Sara loved going out with friends and enjoyed being with her family. She loved to travel and enjoyed the warmer weather in Florida in the winter months. She was blessed to have enjoyed a cruise with her family right before the pandemic started in March 2020.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 23rd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Newbaker Funeral Home in Blairstown, NJ. The Order of the Eastern Star will hold a ceremony at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 24th at 11 a.m. at Newbaker. Interment will be in Yellow Frame Cemetery, Route 94, Fredon.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society 7 Ridgedale Ave, Cedar Knolls, NJ 07932 or the Walnut Valley Methodist Church 4 Vail Road, Columbia, NJ 07832.
