SARA JEAN
Age 91, of Dormont, on Monday, April 2, 2018. Beloved wife of 68 years to Robert L. Herrman; loving mother of Joanne (Brian Sinks) Herrman, Thomas (Lynda) Herrman, Robert (Karla) Herrman, William (Cynthia) Herrman, Kathleen (Herk) Perry, Jeffrey (Diana) Herrman, Edward (Rebecca) Herrman, Jean Marie (Sylvain DeGuise) Herrman, and David (Kellie) Herrman; adoring grandmother of Abigail (Michael) Jackson, David (Scott Farrell) Sinks, and James (Erin) Picket, Benjamin (Thomas Baird) Herrman, Kevin (Erin) Herrman, and Jacquelyn Herrman, Benjamin (Nicole) McCloskey, Andrew Herrman, and Elizabeth Herrman, Daniel (Ashley) Perry, Brian (Sally) Perry, and Jessica (Dane) Thompson, Jarrett (Brooke) Covington, and Jonathan (Vanessa) Herrman, Emily Dietz, Kate Herrman, and Bobby Herrman, and Julia Herrman; cherished great-grandmother of Luke and Rex Herrman, Alexander and Nathan McCloskey, Jocelyn, Brynn, Jacob, and Maximus Perry, and Caitlyn Covington; beloved daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Mohan) Kelly; dear sister of the late Grace, Mark, Jimmy, Ambrose, John, Catherine, Francis, Peggy, and Tom. Sara had a rich education career: she graduated 8th grade from St. Catherine's in Beechview, then Dormont High School on June 5, 1944. She went on to St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, becoming a Registered Nurse on September 11, 1948. She served as a Cadet Corps Nurse from September 1, 1945 to August 31, 1948, and an EMT Technician till February 19, 1973. She then worked in the Postal Service until her retirement on May 1, 1988. Sara was keenly interested in many things. She loved nursing, travel, reading, Irish music, good conversation, and avidly supported Pittsburgh sports. Her greatest devotion was to her children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and their activities, as well as members of her Kelly family. Funeral arrangements by BEINHAUERS (412-531-4000). Friends welcome at 2630 West Liberty Avenue, Dormont Saturday 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Inurnment private.
