Sara ISMAN Obituary
March 7, 1914 – April 17, 2016
With grace and dignity our beloved mother passed away on April 17, 2016. Sara was dearly loved by all who knew her. With her caring nature and sense of humor, she always made those around her feel valued. Sara was predeceased by her mother and father, Dora and Moishe Dorfman, her two brothers and three sisters; her husband of 62 years, David Isman and her son-in-law Frank Altman. She is the loving mother of her four cherished daughters: Shelly Altman of Toronto; Molly Koliger (Bruce) of Edmonton; Debra Isman (Skip) of Houston, Texas, and Bonnie Vogel (Victor) of Calgary. She adored her six grandchildren Lisa (Andy), Daniel (Liat), Michael (Lori), Steven, Emily and Aidan and her six "great ones" Jonah, Ari, Nathan, Avigal, Eitan and Noam. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Trinity Lodge, The Chinook Hospice and especially to Dr. Bouchard and staff. Funeral Services will be held at the Beth Tzedec Synagogue, (1325 Glenmore Trail S.W.) today, April 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park (122 Shalom Way S.E. Macleod Trail & 162 Avenue S.E.). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Alberta Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements in care of the CHEVRA KADISHA OF CALGARY, Telephone: 403-244-4717.

I still to this day remember Aunt Sara and how she sounded to me when she called me up on the phone on my birthday.
There is no one left from my parents generation. I myself is getting up in the years to.I remember all who I knew here on earth...

Im sorry to hear the loss of Aunty Sara. She lived a full and joyous life.She used to phone me up on my Birthdays as well as write a letter to me.I remember her when I used to visit along with my parents to Regina Saskatchewan I enjoyed that and slept and ate at their house. We would meet up with my other cousins from Winnipeg and socialized together. We after would meet in the summertime at West Hawk Lake outside of Winnipeg Manitoba in the summer spending time at Uncle Irwin,s log cabin cottage it was Haunted but all that stenghthened me over time.
Rest in peace Aunty Sara we might meet one another on a different plane one day. I only hope I can reach that golden age of a 100 like you did. I have 35 yeras left to do the things I want to. Bye Auntry Sara. Norman/ Toronto.....
