The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 16 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
Born March 14, 1926, in Lake City. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Brown and Marie Huggins.
Mrs. Pope formerly worked as an office clerk with the Department of the Navy and a member of Cokebury United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Marie Byrd of North Charleston, Roxanne Tilton of Myrtle Beach, Lisa Gail Smith of Moncks Corner; two sons, Robert S. Cooke III of Daytona Beach, Fla., Barry M. Cooke of Summerville; two step-daughters, Betty Sykes of Johns Island, Linda McGinnis of Hanahan; a stepson, James Pope of Johns Island; a brother, Rupert, Brown of Virginia Beach, Va.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pope was predeceased by her husband, William K. Pope, two sisters, Betty JoLemire and Geraldine Lewis.
Arrangements are being handled by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
