Sara Shaughnessy Obituary
GREENSBORO- Mrs. Sara Rollins Shaughnessy, 46, died Friday, February 10, 2006, at Wesley Long Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. The interment will follow at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Sara was born March 18, 1959 in Lombard, Illinois to Michael and Margaret Rollins. She was a surgical nurse with the "Heart Team" at Moses Cone Hospital. Her father Michael Rollins preceded her in death.
Her children will always cherish her memory because she was a dedicated and loving mother.
Surviving are her husband of 20 years, Don J. Shaughnessy Jr., children, Megan, D.J. and Katie Shaughnessy, all of the home; mother, Margaret Rollins; sister, Mary Goblet (Ray); brothers, Patrick Rollins (Jayne), Donald Rollins (Carol), and Keith Rollins (Kara); father and mother-in-law, Donald and Joanna Shaughnessy Sr., of Greensboro; sisters-in-law, Kathy Dudich (Bill), Sue Stewart (Ed), of Climax, Kelly Younts (Alan), of Greensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Sara's family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Long Hospital, her co-workers at Moses Cone Hospital, friends, neighbors and especially Dr. Kalsoom Khan for the compassionate care given to Sara during her illness.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Forbis & Dick Pleasant Garden Chapel.
