Dr. Coyne was an outstanding educator and a wonderful mentor. I was in my mid-40s when I attended WLSC as an English education major. She encouraged me, supported me, and gave me wings to fly. I owe much of my success to her. She was loved and beloved. (Her Halloween parties were legendary.) I cherish my memories of her.

Dr Coyne was one of my favorite professors at West Liberty. I am sorry to read the news of her death, but her life influenced many people.
I'll always remember fondly her Halloween get-togethers with students & English faculty for the " Come as Your Favorite Literary Character" costume themes. I'll also remember her walking the two big rescue dogs on campus, and her stopping to let me pet them.

I have great memories of Dr. Coyne in our Women Writers class at West Liberty. She was working on her dissertation at the time, and she shared the latest insights and theories with us all. She was always generous with her time and her feedback. She will live on in all of the teachers and professors she taught over her many years.

My cousin Sally remembered.
Fond memories of Sally from 45 years ago when we were young. The campus at West Liberty was a hub of youthful discussion, mostly I recall, to do with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, of which there was much. Sally's life was an educational odyssey with a light touch, sprinkling the stardust of knowledge to pupils and friends with kindness and laughter. "All my memories gather 'round her. Country roads take her home". Love, Deirdre, Doug, Siobhan and James

We were fellow English majors & graduates in 1962 from Wheeling Jesuit, Wheeling, WV.
Appreciated her warmth & energy very much; enjoyed seeing her at reunions and admire her achievements.
Am saddened by her death, my condolences to her family and friends.
