Sarah Winifred Devane, 57, passed away in Chicago on July 8, 2023, after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 28, 1966, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Sarah was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, and her warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Sarah's good natured personality and kindness were evident to everyone she encountered. She had a wonderful spirit that brought joy to those around her. Sarah's compassionate nature touched the lives of both her extended family, and coworkers. She will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Sarah graduated from Homer Central High School in Homer, New York. She went on to work as a physical therapy aid at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse, New York, and later at North Shore Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. Sarah's dedication to helping others and her passion for her job made a positive impact on the lives of countless patients.
Sarah is survived by her mother, Gillian, her brothers Patrick and Matthew, her sisters-in-law Keri and Fanny, and her nieces Ciara and Alina. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph. Sarah's love and devotion to her family were immeasurable, and she cherished the time spent with loved ones.
A Memorial Mass will be held to celebrate Sarah's life on Saturday, July 29, at 1:30 PM at Saint Ita's Catholic Church, located at 5500 North Broadway, Chicago. Following the mass, a gathering will take place in the Gazebo in the back garden of Edgewater Beach Apartments, located at 5555 North Sheridan Road, Chicago.
In honor of Sarah's memory, her family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice. Sarah's legacy of kindness and compassion will live on through the lives she touched.
Please join us in celebrating the remarkable life of Sarah Winnifred Devane. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Sarah was such a sweetheart, omg! She was the epitome of a person with a heart of gold, this makes me so sad . My condolences to her loved ones
