To Elsie and Family, I was so sorry to read in this mornings paper of the passing of Acting Chief of Police, Norman G. Bonneville, Jr. He was a great man and one of my mentors when I joined the Harrisburg Police Department in August of 1969. I was 18 years old and a Police Cadet. At that time I was assigned to the Juvenile Division under the command of then Lieutenant Bonneville. Under his direction I was taught the old school of police work to talk with people and treat them the same way as you would want to be treated. With his training and those under his command I was able to suceed and climbed to the rank of Lieutenant when I retired in January of 2001. He was one of the several individuals that I attribute to my success. Know that he is in a better place and at peace.
