Sarah Urlacher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 3, 2024.
Sarah Ruth "Peanut" Urlacher, aged 32, passed away on June 24, 2024, in Phoenix, Arizona. Born on November 12, 1991, in Pasadena, California, Sarah was known for her kindness, courage, and a spirited sense of adventure that touched everyone she met.

Sarah excelled as a figure skater from a young age, beginning at just ten years old. Her talent and dedication led her to compete at national levels, inspiring many with her grace and athleticism. Beyond the rink, Sarah had a profound love for animals, particularly her dogs and horses. She was an excellent English rider, often found spending her cherished moments with her horse, Sapphire.

After the loss of her beloved stepfather, Sarah embraced life with open arms, backpacking across Europe and always ready to embark on new adventures. Her witty and entertaining personality made her a beloved figure among her friends and family.

Sarah attended Grandview High School, followed by New Mexico University. Professionally, she contributed significantly to her community, working as a Psych Tech at Desert Hill Youth and Family Services and previously in customer service at Hollister. Her commitment to service was evident through her volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity and her active lifestyle that included traveling and hiking with her siblings.

She is survived by her parents, Stephanie Cochran of Dallas, Texas, and Ernest and Lydia Urlacher of Pasadena, California; siblings Brandon Urlacher of Pasadena, California, Adam Urlacher of Lakewood, Colorado, Jenna Cochran of Tennessee, and Sommer Urlacher of Aurora, Colorado; nephews Ethan Knox of Aurora, Colorado, and Stephen Urlacher of Denver, Colorado; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins across the United States and Canada. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth and William Sommers, and Pius and Josie Urlacher.

Memorial services will be held in both Pasadena, California, and Aurora, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sarah's memory can be made to the US Figure Skating Association, honoring her passion for ice skating and her lifelong contributions to the sport. Sarah's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, forever remembered as a beacon of light and a source of joy.
