A beautiful writer who commemorated the union of myself and my husband, helped to start our family, and give us the precious memory of being married in front of my students...one of whom was his own daughter. A real gift of an experience, and a dear man. We are eternally grateful.

Saul was a man from another era. He was a true Renaissance Man, equally gifted in many fields beyond the practice of law, in which he was, of course, a wise and insightful mentor, who could cut to the heart of a matter before everyone else in the room had heard all of the facts. He will be missed.

I had the good luck of meeting Saul at a short story writing class where he wrote rich and imaginative prose. He was valued for his ability to spot a vital missing detail in someone else's story which I attribute to the keen listening skills he developed from his background in law. He was a raconteur and a true gentleman who spoke lovingly of his family. My deepest condolences to his loved ones. He will be missed on many levels.

Marian, Lilly and the Cohen family, Saul was certainly one of the brightest and most insightful people I've ever known. He was a worldly man, and I saw that first hand in the excellent short stories he wrote as he pursued one of his hobbies in retirement. I loved getting his stories emailed to me, reading them, and then speaking to him at length about them. Some of these stories were of New Yorker quality, and Saul, had he not become a brilliant lawyer, certainly could have been a brilliant writer. I will miss the lunches with Saul, and the scotches, and the great discussions about history, philosophy, politics, literature and life. RIP, Saul.

Saul Cohen meant so much to so many. He was equal parts visionary, leader & pioneer. His guidance was valued, his intellect was treasured and his spirit was priceless. While we were privileged to have him as a mentor we were honored to call him a friend.
With our condolence to Marian & Lily,

Having worked with Saul when, while he was at Rosenman and I at SEC, he was the receiver of a failed government bond firm, I can recall how enthusiastic and relentless he was in seeking to obtain funds from those who looted the firm, so investors could be compensated. True, he got a fee, but he earned it well. My condolences to his family.
