An Era has passed
Saul Katz's life exemplified many wonderful qualities.
Devoted husband & unconditional love for his family were two traits that I witnessed first hand
Personally our time spent together was, to say the least, Unique.
During the time onboard s/y JULIET, Saul was the consumet gentleman at ease with compliments & thanks as well as constructive criticisms that actually worked.
But most importantly he took the time to Care.
Might seem trivial but my life is all the better for it
Heart felt sympathies to Bruce, Dasa, Julie, Roger, KK, Connor and Abby for you loss.
With Love

My deepest sympathies go out to Bruce, Roger, and the whole Katz family. I feel so fortunate to have known, worked with, and genuinely learned from Mr. Katz (despite our relative closeness in years past, I still can't call him Saul, because for me he was always Mr. Katz).
Like so many, I have wonderful memories of my time at Rockport, and Mr. Katz was central to much of that. After the company was sold to Reebok, and I was working as a product manager, I remember him often coming to my office and asking, 'Do you have a minute?' Nervously at first, I would always respond 'of course,' and he'd then spend the next two hours quizzing me on decisions we were making, what the ramifications might be, and offering different ways to think about things -- it was a remarkable process, enlightening for me, and he was always so engaged. At the end, he always took the time to ask about my family and my kids. Many of those conversations still shape my way of thinking and will remain with me forever. Thank you Mr. Katz, you were a wonderful teacher.

My deepest sympathies to Bruce and Roger on the loss of their Dad. I have fond memories of working with 'Mr. Katz' in the early days of Rockport, he had great patience to teach others his trade and I learned a great deal from him. It was a great time watching the family business grow into a worldwide company. Sincerely, Beth Bartholomew

Condolenses from the friends from Brazil Osmar Naves & Cle Naves from extiguished Calçados Passport in Franca,SP. Mr Katz is a gentleman humanistic character. Lots of memories since working together and learning a lot from this clever man since 1970 at Calçados Pestalozzi. Then in 1987 my son Cle went to work at Rockport Brazil office with Pele (dead in 2000) who was a very close friend of mine. For sure Mr. Katz have a very special place in the new dimension of eternal soul life. God bless and confort Katz family.

My heart felt condolences to the Saul Katz family on your loss. I have very fond memories of my time at Rockport while Mr. Katz was still involved. He was a "Genuine Shoe Man" and he had a remarkable way of communicating in an inspiring way. In my opinion he was a great man and the "Rock" that a great company was built by and upon. Please forward my condolences to the Katz family.
Mr.Katz was simply a very good man a real humanistic. His quiet personality and his wise decisions always were a exceptional sample for everybody.
I have learned from him not only the shoe business but also how to be brave and honest in any respect. The success of Rockport and also the success of many persons in their life were connected to him.
I will keep his memory for ever.
