Savannah Rose Maples

MAPLES, SAVANNAH ROSE - of Knoxville was born April 21, 2011 and received her wings and took her flight to be with Jesus on the evening of May 6, 2011. Savannah was born with HLHS, and she fought a good fight. She has touched the lives of many all over the world during her brief time here with us. She will forever be loved and live in our hearts. Savannah was greeted with open arms by those who preceded her in death: paternal great grandparents, Fred R. Little, Kathy "Kitty" Grindstaff, Kenneth Maples, and Linda Owens; maternal great grandparents, James Smith, Wallace and Mary Ross. Survived by loving parents, Samantha Ross and Billy Maples; grandparents, Susanna and Roger McKamey, John Ross (Vicky), Bill and Deborah Maples; great grandfather, Steve Grindstaff (Florence); great grandmother, Betty Smith; aunts and uncles, Courtney "Auntie C" Maples, Shannon Larson (Will), Brian Breen (Dawn), Derek Kulpinski (Sarah), Ashley Glover (Josh); Godparents, Benton Huddleston and Chelsey Rynes; and a host of other family and friends. The family would like to send a special "Thank You" to the wonderful caring staff at the Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and to the Ronald McDonald House, all of Nashville. Also, thank you to all the wonderful people who did and did not know the family that sent their thoughts and prayers to them. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Grindstaff officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home and proceed to Roseberry Cemetery for an 11:00 AM interment.
